SCHOLARSHIPS OFFERED BY THE GREATER WASHINGTON URBAN LEAGUE
The Greater Washington Urban League offers three primary scholarship opportunities for students in its service area. In addition, information on other scholarships can be obtained from sources listed on the League's web page.
Charlotte Elizabeth Yancey Eights Scholarship
The Yancy Eights scholarship is a four year scholarship award of $8,000 paid out is increments of $2,00 per year for your years.
Interested students must:
Complete an essay on a subject selected by the sponsors
Have completed 80% of their school's community service requirements
Have a GPA of 2.5 of better
Interested students should contact the Greater Wahsington Urban League in the fall of their senior year to receive the application and the application timeline.
SAFEWAY/GREATER WASHINGTON URBAN LEAGUE SCHOLARSHIP
Six $2,000 scholarships are awarded to graduating high schools students residing in the service area of the League.
Interested students must:
Complete an essay on a subject selected by the sponsors
Have completed 90% of their school district's community service requirement
Have a GPA of 2.5 or better
Interested students should contact the Greater Washington Urban League in the fall of their senior year for the application process and the application timeline.
