About Our Site Our Purpose The purpose of the Greater Washington Urban League Parent Assistance Program Web Site is to establish a way to directly impact parental involvement in the education of their children and parenting skills development for parents in our program service area. Additionally, we provide parents with information on resources and activities within the community they can take advantage of with their children. The web site is designed to be inviting and something parents will "surf" regularly to see what is NEW. There will be information on up-coming activities in the parent community, GWUL sponsored activities and a Parent Tip Page containing basic information that can be incorporated into their day-to-day life. Our Goals 1. To Help Parents Gain Confidence In Their Child-Rearing Abilities And Increase Their Awareness Of Educational Issues And Services While Fostering The Development Of Parent/School Partnerships In Meeting The Needs Of Children. 2.
